Q: How do I know if my 7 Series has EDC?
A: Look at your original rear strut. If it has a cylindrical metal valve body mounted on the side and an electrical wire harness coming out of it, your vehicle has EDC. You can also check your car's build sheet for Option Code 223 (EDC).
Q: Can I use this strut if my car has standard shock absorbers?
A: No. The electrical and mounting configuration is unique to EDC-equipped cars. If your car doesn't have the EDC control unit, this strut cannot be properly installed or controlled.
Q: Should I replace both rear struts at once?
A: Yes. Replacing struts in pairs is highly recommended to ensure balanced damping across the rear axle and to maintain the legendary ride quality of the E65/E66.
